Blogs are on-line journals. Adding content to a blog is very easy. You go to the site, login, type in new content, and save it. Blogs display the most recent entries at the top and automatically archive older entries. Links to those archives are maintained on the front page.

The "owner of the blog" can allow others to add blog entries and can invite others to add their comments to blog entries.

There are many places you can go on the internet and create a blog. Many of your students may already have done so. We're recommending edublogs.org which is a blog hosting service aimed at teachers and students.

The latest version of Moodle, in use at Emma, allows teachers to create blogs. The output of the Moodle blogs can be kept within Emma's Moodle site, or can be published to the broader outside world.
